The Boba is designed for older babies starting roughly at age one. Since the carrier is designed for toddlers, the extra height in the back may not give a smaller baby much of a view. The extra height and width along with the tapered body does offer a more clinging secure environment for your toddler than other narrow bodied soft structured carriers. The design pulls your little one close to you and along with it your center of gravity, making it an easier load to carry.
Yet, it doesn't offer the clinging contoured support of the wrap. It is easy off and easy on and you can get your little one inside in a snap. Usually the design is preferred by male partners, although some men are secure enough to be wrapped in pink! We usually suggest that the child be at least fifteen pounds - closer to twenty would be preferable, before using the Boba. At about twenty pounds, it is usually better for your body to start carrying your baby on your back.
Usually between one and a half and two years your childs legs are too long to be fully supported in a soft structured carrier. But not with this carrier. The Boba offers footstraps which provide the same complete leg support that a wrap does by bringing your little one's knees up to hip level. Little legs can rest, the blood flows, there's no tingling in the toes. It definitely makes for a smoother and more comfortable ride.
