Cloth Dipes- So very different from your mama's cloth diapers! When I started using cloth dipes, some family members and friends couldn't believe it. When Savannah was a baby, I was told she had diaper ezcema from her pediatrician. Another pediatrician said she can't have diaper ezcema. What in fact Savannah did have was a itchy reaction to the chemicals and toxins in disposable diapers. After trying all different brands of diapers I decided on cloth dipes. A friend of mine from college started putting her little girl in them and when I did more research and saw them I fell in love! Well, not exactly but they were cute! I read that some babies have reactions to disposables. As soon as I switched to cloth dipes, her skin completely cleared up! She isn't itchy at all! I just wish I would have started earlier and not put her through that for no reason.
So when I told my mom I was using cloth dipes. She was shocked. Why? Because SHE used cloth dipes with my sister. And I think she lasted one day until she pooped. Why? She didn't want to dunk it in the toliet.
Most people think cloth dipes are gross, disgusting, dunking, unsanitary, and are leaky. All of which are untrue! You don't "dunk" the dipes in the toliet. You rinse them off with the diaper sprayer or I use a Laundry tub. You can use toliet paper to remove most of the poop. As for the leaky part, that has to do with how you wash the dipes.
